Summary

Manager, Marketing – Japan will be a key member of the local commercial team in developing a robust launch plan and executing on it, in ensuring an environment conducive to rapid uptake of the medicine in clinical practice. In this role, she/he will combine scientific knowledge with business acumen at the intersection of innovation, marketing and medical impact. Reporting to the Marketing Lead, she/he will work closely with Commercial Ops, Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), Legal/Regulatory, Compliance, Finance and Sales functions. Marketing manager requires strong project management and communication skills along with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders. She/He shall continuously strive to expand the envelope of market intelligence through data analysis, customer interactions and primary market research. The role will also call for sharp analytical flair necessary to troubleshoot growth inhibitors and identify growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (Essential Role Responsibilities):
  • Identify strategic priorities, corresponding key activities and aligned metrics
  • Develop a robust tactical plan that addresses the strategic priorities
  • Execute on the tactical plan in close collaboration with Commercial Operations, MA, MSL teams
  • Identify Key Opinion Leaders, develop and execute a comprehensive Opinion Leader engagement plan
  • Develop and execute on a robust omnichannel promotional plan for HCPs
  • Develop patient support programs as necessary
  • Develop promotional collateral in compliance with regulatory frameworks
  • Lead roll out of field training programs
  • Track KPIs and generate reports for local and global leadership
  • Partner with field sales leadership, compliance, regulatory, medical and legal teams to execute compliant Professional Education initiatives that align to brand objectives, including facilitation, coordination and management of vendors
  • Conduct market research and other intelligence gathering to generate a deep insights about evolving patient needs and market landscape
Position Requirements (Required and/or Preferred Skills, Experience and Education):
  • 5+ years of biotech/pharma marketing experience
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written / English and Japanese)
  • Must have excellent analytical, strategic thinking, creativity, and problem solving skills
  • Experience in development and execution of professional marketing strategies including digital channels
  • Deep understanding of Guidelines related to sales and promotion in Japan
  • Experience in effectively managing agencies and budget
  • Sales and sales management experience preferred
  • Works effectively across functions as a team player
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to work independently and efficiently
  • Must successfully exhibit Insmed’s five (5) core corporate competencies of: Passion, Accountability, Collaboration, Integrity and Respect; along with any other position specific competencies
  • Individuals must demonstrate the ability to interact successfully in a dynamic and culturally diverse workplace
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or equivalent degree is preferred
  • Non-smoker
Travel:Travel approximately 20-30%
